Counseling with Michele:

(she/her)

Have you been feeling tired, angry, unheard or just dissatisfied with your life, your career or relationships?  Maybe you have been reflecting on life choices, family drama or parenting challenges and want to explore how you can make your life easier.  Are you or someone you know struggling with addictions? Or are you a teenager struggling with the unprecedented challenges of social media, bullying, sexual pressures, parental tensions or the absence of a support system?  If any of these ring true for you, I believe working together, you will discover the courage to create the life you desire!

I integrate a blend of Cognitive, Behavioral, Gestalt, and Solution Focused tools and techniques (and let’s not forget humor), to support individuals to make sense of who they are and their ideal path forward. You will be encouraged to explore and achieve more peace in your life.

“Nothing will work unless you do.”
- Maya Angelou

Testimonials:

  • “If you are new to the therapy world, Michele is the swift kick in the butt that you need. She made me feel at ease and comfortable in her space. She most importantly helped me work through past and current traumas to understand how they impacted my wellbeing. Her thoughtful and tenacious approach on ensuring how one understands their boundaries has transformed my life in many ways. Michele takes the time to instill the importance of understanding individual needs and worth and how it relates to family and personal relationships to help work through the underlying issues at hand. I could not recommend Michele enough and selfishly would like to keep her to myself but I know we all could use a little bit of Michele in our lives!”

  • I cannot speak highly enough about my son’s experience with Michele. Actually, I cannot speak highly enough about both our experiences with her. We are a military family that endures lots of emotional rollercoasters throughout our ride. We are constantly thrown into abrupt changes and left to adapt. Therapy is something that has been a part of my family’s life for quite some time. When we first moved to Hampton Roads in the summer of 2018 we had found a therapist that saw both my boys. Then, after about 9 months of sessions, she moved out of the country and although saddened by this obstacle, things seemed to be going ok. I had looked on and off for therapists for months, and I remember coming across Artisan Counseling and reading about each therapist. When I read Michele’s history and testimonial, I knew immediately she was the one I wanted to work with my son when we picked back up with therapy. Well, in February of 2020 my son was diagnosed with ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. As you all know, the world shut down shortly after in March. At the time, Artisan was only conducting therapy sessions virtually. For an eight year old boy with no former relationship established, I decided it wasn’t the time. Fast forward to the next school year, and boom, we were ready to get serious. I called Michele’s office and they had opened up for in person sessions. I was ecstatic! The only problem was she was completely booked with clients. No room for newbies. Her secretary took down my information and said she would pass it along to Michele. I did not have high hopes since I knew her schedule was booked. Within 24 hours the secretary reached out and notified me that Michele would indeed make room to see my son. I knew from that moment, without ever meeting her, that she took her job very seriously and she genuinely cared about other people’s well-being. This action showed me how dedicated Michele was in regards to helping people who needed her. We met her and INSTANTANEOUSLY I knew we had “struck gold”. The trust and relationship she established with my son immediately had him excited and wanting to go to therapy daily! (What child wants to go to therapy daily?!) Her guidance, professionalism, sense of humor, patience, dedication, determination, and non-judgmental attitude made him (and me) feel safe and understood. (Eventually, I ended up seeing Michele too, because let’s face it, this is a crazy world we live in and it was therapeutic for my soul as well.) My son saw Michele for a year before the military moved us again. He still asks to see her to this day and she still comes through for him when she can with a quick video chat! She is a genuine person with remarkable skills to help anyone in need of therapy. If you require a therapist, you need Michele.
