When a child or teen is struggling, the whole family feels it. At our Suffolk office in the Harbour View area, counselors work with young people and their parents on worries, changes in behavior, school stress, grief and big feelings that are hard to put into words. The office is near the Route 58 corridor and is accessible from Chesapeake, Portsmouth and northern Suffolk.
Sessions are available in person in Suffolk or by secure telehealth in Virginia. Learn more on our main Child & Teen Counseling page.
Families at our Suffolk office often reach out after a change in a child's behavior at home or school, an adjustment after divorce or remarriage, grief the family has not been able to process together, or growing tension between parents and teens.
Parents are involved from the start. Your child's counselor will explain how parent check-ins and privacy will work, so everyone knows what to expect. When the whole household is affected, family counseling may also help.
